This week Bomb Squad will move from Ysera to Zul'Jin. We have decided to transfer for many reasons, mostly due to the decline in guild recruitment and availability of raiders on Ysera. As we all know, this has been a long time coming and we have decided that in order for us to raid, recruit and have a better quality of life as individuals and as a raid team, this is the best solution. Zul'Jin (PvE) is a high Horde population, high raid progression server with a thriving economy and activity base.
We would love to have everyone in the guild come with us, but we understand those who wish or need to stay. For those who would like join us on Zul'Jin, it's important that you do not transfer your characters in advance. After the guild transfers, we will post an update on the forums and on Bomb Squad-Ysera's guild message of the day. Transferring after the guild allows you to keep your reputation with the guild. Transferring before the guild means that you'll lose all the rep you have with the guild.
If you have any questions, contact Yuingling or Cazdorn. I know this is not a lot of time to plan, but you don't have to worry about losing your reputation as long as you do not gquit from the Bomb Squad-Ysera guild (which will remain, but as a level 1 and will lose the guild ach and perks associated with it). Please also be advised that in order to transfer your individual characters you will need to pay the standard $25.00 USD Blizzard fee for each character you decide to move. Most of us will be moving our raiding characters first and slowly moving other characters we play as time goes by. Keep that in mind when deciding about your current characters and gold you will be sending with each.
Also, character transfers only allow you to leave the server with 50k gold. If you would like to bring more than that with you, talk to Cazdorn ASAP. We'll let you deposit gold in the guild bank, and give it back to you once the guild has transferred over.
Having moved past the holidays, attendance is now a bit more reliable, though still sketchy on certain days. That said, being able to raid somewhat regularly has allowed us to progress quickly, particularly on the fifth, sixth, and seventh of this month. It would be rather difficult to call this a trend however, as this week we missed an entire day (Saturday), costing us at least one progression kill in Blade Lord Ta’yak.
Speaking of the blade lord, our new plan of attack will rely on the continued use of three healers, as well as putting almost the entirety of the responsibility for phase two on individuals. Healers will get you what health they can with instants at the start of the run, but until you get to the other side, you are on your own. Think of it as a reward.
Beyond simple progression in Heart of Fear and hopefully Terrace, our main goal for the coming weeks and perhaps months is to prepare for 5.2 and Throne of the Thunder King. We will likely not even see heroics for this tier of raiding, and that doesn’t really matter to me. My main concern is whether or not we will have a raid group that is geared enough to get into Throne of the Thunder King when it is released. While we don’t quite know what ilvl gear is recommended for the normal raid, item level 480 is required for LFR, and I would like everyone in the raid to be at least at that item level for normals, ideally a bit higher.
When the patch does come out, I will be coordinating LFR runs for the new raid to hopefully close the gear gap. As far as what you can personally do to prepare for 5.2, if you know you will be behind the gear curve, please farm some Lesser Charms so that you can get additional loot from LFR. There are a few scenarios where we would have to continue raiding the 5.0 raids, but I would like to use 5.2 as a reset button for our progression, so that we might stop lagging behind. Please do your part, and hopefully everyone else will continue doing theirs.
